What really makes this necklace stand out to be is it's combination of different styles. If you break down it's components the major ones to me are the pink stones and chains, as you all know I'm a big fan of stones and chains and the combination of the pink with the chain makes it girly and tough. Another big component is the rope. The rope gives it this great Spring/Summer feel. The smallest parts to this necklace but help make it so unique is the little spiders. I love little details like that and this could easily be mistaken for a piece from Betsey Johnson. Bracelets have been making a big comeback these last few seasons and according to the Groundhog we will have an early spring. It's almost time to start thinking about shifting from long sleeves to 3/4 and short sleeves and it's also a good time to start looking for some new bracelets to add to the mix. I love this Mixed Quartz Bracelet from Banana Republic because you can wear it layered with other small bangles but will also make a strong statement worn alone. Opals are one of my favorite stones. From afar they seem so basic and plain white but when you get up close and really look at an Opal, you can see many different colors. I really like this Opal Cluster Ring from Free People because of the way the cluster of Opals will look when the light hits it right. I also like the filigree detailing on the sides done in antique silver making this look like more of a flea market find then a mass produced piece. It is also very well priced at $38.

I saw the Glinting Gravel Ring in the sale marked down from $58.00 to $29.95 and immediately sent it to my sister who I owed a late Christmas present. The way she distresses and paints the polymer, it looks like it is stone. The advantage of the polymer material is that it is lightweight. For no particular reason, I love post earrings that have a bit of a dangle. The Zuni Pyramid Earrings from Bing Bang have a great balance between the stud and dangle earring. The cone studs could easily stand alone as a stud earring but the way the Swarovski crystal and cabochon accent stones are fanned below the ear lobe make a great stud/dangle earring. t8designs makes these absolutely amazing pieces by repurposing antique items like buckles and brooches. Each piece looks like it is vintage because of it's construction using vintage items but they are constructed during current times so they're up with the current styles making it very hard to pick just one. For example, the necklace in the 2nd picture is very reminiscent of this Madewell necklace but t8designs necklace is muche more uniqe as well as one-of-a-kind having being made using a vintage brooch.

I have a long silver fish necklace that bought off of eBay a few years ago that I wear often (and my sister always borrows when she's in town). Whenever I wear it I get a lot of compliments on it, especially from guys. The fish pendant is movable and that's always the first thing people ask me and then they ask if they can move it and where I got it from. Since I purchased mine off of eBay, it's hard for someone else to find the same necklace. However, Forever 21 has this Koi Fish Necklace that is pretty similar. I really like the way this Acrylic Pendant from Eden&Eden looks like a paper doily but is actually made from acrylic. It is also has a rocker vibe even though it is very feminine. The style and the black and white coloring also makes this very easy to wear.

Today's post is a little different. I was inspired by this past weekends weather in NYC that was named "Umbrellageddon" by a few media outlets. I have never seen so many "dead" umbrellas on the streets in my entire time living in NYC. My family was in town from AZ (hence the lack of posts the last few days) and we braved the weather to enjoy our weekend together. We lost 2 umbrellas. I did a search for umbrella jewelry and nothing really stuck out to me but as a person with a lot of jewelry I am constantly looking for jewelry boxes and other forms of jewelry storage for my collection. I found this Umbrella Jewelry Stand on Urban Outfitters and thought it was adorable. I like the roses that are painted on the inside of the umbrella. The whole weekend we kept talking about how the weather is going to break soon from the winter and spring will be here and I feel like those small roses are the glimmer of better weather and flowers that comes along with the spring rain.

My favoriite piece from the catalog was the Tessera Necklace. I really like how its made from so many different types of materials; beads, stones, silk wrapped beads. There are so many interesting pieces and small details that make up this necklace. Each piece could be used to make individually great necklaces but put all together, they make one very interesting and beautiful necklace.

I attended the ken & dana GUN buy back fundraiser last night and it was a lot of fun! The GUN Project line looks great and will post my favorites once the pieces are on line. From across the crowded bar, I saw a member of the ken & dana team wearing the Natural Rough Pyrite Ring and I haven't stopped thinking about it since!!
